Fieldwork in a Tree

From U.S. Geological Survey (USGS):

Fieldwork in a Tree — Today is Dr. Seuss’s birthday (he would be 113). Since most people are familiar with the rhymes of Seuss, here’s our quick take at our #TBT for today called, "Fieldwork in a Tree"
-------
It's we, you see, up in a tree
Looking ‘cross the valley in 1915.
Surveying land for what we can see
86 feet high in Pickens, W-V.

Red Maple, Hickory, and White Oak do we spy
Yellow Poplar, Northern Red Oak with our four little eyes.
Chestnut Oaks with expansive roots,
Sugar Maple views, and American Beech to boot.

Fieldwork like ours it just can't be beat.
The sounds of nature rustling at our feet.

But for now, we must say goodbye.
A storm cloud is brewing way up in the sky.
It's a long way down to get to the bottom,
we built this so high...what the heck were we doing?!!!
--------
We hope you enjoyed our a little attempt this morning…and, no, “four little eyes” doesn’t refer to someone wearing glasses…you can see we’re using binoculars in this photo. ;) Enjoy the rest of your day…and don’t forget: science s-niece-c?
